"Not just a school. A place that embraces their children and teaches them humanity. Erik has been at Montgomery Montessori for 4 months. In those months he has blossomed on every way. He LOVES to learn. He is constantly (CONSTANTLY) sounding things out, spelling everything he sees and counting. He is a learning machine. He has never been the kind of child that wanted to sit down and do a puzzle, well.....he is now! But this school is more. I held back tears watching them sing tonight. At Montgomery Montessori School, we believe that every child has the right to go to a school that is a perfect match for them. Montessori is a philosophy with the fundamental principle that a child learns best within a social environment, which supports each individual's unique development.

We invite you to visit our school in the Hudson Valley Area in the heart of beautiful historic Village of Montgomery. We occupy what was known as the historic Mead-Tooker House which was built in stages in the late 1700's. Few feet away is the Montgomery Free Library, museums and the local Montgomery Park which the students can experience. (To find out more about the beautiful village of Montgomery and events click here) Come and experience first hand our exciting and time-tested, yet innovative education program. The staff works together to make the school a safe and loving environment for your children. School visits are by appointment only. A Note From Our Director:

We are often shown and taught to take the conventional road. We are discouraged to take the road less traveled. I guess as parents, we want our children to follow the straighter path. But, we should want our children to reach for the stars not just watch them! We should encourage them to be leaders rather than followers, sometimes to achieve this, you might have to take the road less traveled. As Maria would say, let their light shine. Inside each of us there is that light and when followed and listened to, it will shine and it will ignite the human spirit.

At MMS we are setting the foundation for independence and fostering a love of learning. Our school is like a second home to our students. They love their school and community.

Each child feels empowered and learns how great it feels to do things on their own! Each of our trained Montessori instructors are here to nurture, support, and guide them each and every day and are committed to making your child's Montessori experience productive, stimulating, and fun!
